Howard R. "Howie" Peterson

Funeral services for Howard R. “Howie” Peterson will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 2, 2011 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy with the Rev. Rolf Wangberg of the LeRoy Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and 1hr prior to the service also at the funeral home. Howie Peterson, age 80, of LeRoy died Thursday October 27, at the Ostrander Care and Rehab where he had resided since 2004. Howard Raymond Peterson was born March 9, 1931 near Taopi, MN to Henry Emil and Sadie Ovidia (Johnson) Peterson. He attended and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1949and was united in marriage to Betty Johnson on February 2, 1951 and together they farmed in LeRoy Twp until their retirement. Howie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cruising the local countryside, watching football games and playing 500. He is survived by his wife Betty of the Ostrander Care Center, 5 children; Lynn and wife Chris Peterson of Kasson, MN and their daughter Amber Peterson, Lila and husband Rodney Pierce of Rochester, MN and their sons Ryan and Justin, Brad Peterson of LeRoy, MN, Kelly Peterson of Sydney, Australia and Scott and wife Jennifer Peterson of LeRoy and their children Serena and Ty Peterson. Howie was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Lorraine and Marcella and a brother Donald. Condolences may be left at
