Donald R. Collins
73, of New Carlisle, Ohio, formerly of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, went to be with our Lord on October 21, 2011. Don was the first of five children born to the late Milam and Mable Collins of Big Stone Gap, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Deloris; daughter, Vickey; sons, Terry, Randy, Greg, and Tim; son-in-law, Mike; daughter-in-laws, Teresa and Lisa; eight grandchildren, Mandy, Tamara, Ashley, Jessica, Olivia, Stephanie, Allison, and Josie; along with eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph; three sisters, Margaret, Betty Sue, and Wanda. The way he embraced each day of his life, with a giving heart and a working hand, will be the way we all remember him. His love will be with each of us forever. A small gathering of immediate family was held from 4-5 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.
MARGARET(HIS SISTER)DON, WAS NOT ONLY MY BROTHER, BUT HE WAS MY FRIEND. I WILL MISS HIM SO MUCH.I WILL MISS HIS SMILE AND VOICE MORE THAN ANYONE WILL EVER KNOW.GOD BLESS EVERYONE IN HIS FAMILY,MY LOVE GOES OUT TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.
KatSo many memories come flooding back with the loss of a loved one. My favorite memories of Don are from times I spent on the farm in Cadet. I am so glad I got to see him when Aunt Mable passed. He never changed. All the family, expecially Lois, are in my prayers.
Tamra PerkinsI am so sorry I never was able to know you. You were my grandpa and I only met you a handful of times. It breaks my heart to know you are no longer here with us and I will never get the chance to know my grandfather. Please know I love you and will one day see you again.
Love Tamra Lynn Perkins (Collins)
Grand daugtherI see you in my children... your great grandchildren! Yet they didn't get to know you for very long. I see you sense of humor in my son and body language is like yours. Loosing is hard... but finding pieces of you in all the people I love is the best part of my days. I love you forever. You are my sunshine.
