Nancy K. Pitsch, 71, of Upper Burrell Township, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 15, 1937 in Oklahoma Boro to the late Glen Fleming Markey and Anna Elizabeth Morrow Markey she grew up in Dayton (PA) and was a graduate of Shannock Valley High School. She later graduated from Allegheny Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Harrison Township as a registered nurse and worked in their emergency room. Several years later she was an R.N. at Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, then Belair Nursing Home, Lower Burrell, and finally she did home health care with the Visiting Nurses Association when their offices were located in Arnold, Tarentum, and Apollo, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, boating and fishing. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ralph A. Pitsch Sr.; children, Karen (Jeff) Klimczyk of Hyde Park and Ralph A. (Jacquelyn "Jacki" Matey) Pitsch Jr.; and grandchildren, Matthew & Bethany Pitsch. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Samuel Pitsch; and siblings, Evelyn Mae Brubaker Hoffman, Patty Crawford, and Kenneth Markey. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., (724-335-1234) 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. The Rev. Mr. Michael Kelly will officiate.
