Earl L. Garvick

Earl L. Garvick (“Chuck”), 77, of Hanover passed away, Friday, November 25, 2011.
He was predeceased by his parents, Earl L. Garvick, Sr. and Dorothy Crawford Garvick.
Earl is survived by his son, Andrew Garvick and wife Lynn of Hanover, PA; daughter, Amy Garvick Whitman and husband, Eric of Mt. Lakes, NJ; grandchildren Karli and Kaitlyn Garvick, and Adam and Jonathan Whitman; brothers, Richard Garvick and Glenn Garvick; sisters, Marion Miller, Jane Bubb and Ellen Spangler; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Earl served our country in the US Navy as a radioman from 1954-1958. He retired from Wege Pretzel Company, and served on the Hanover Board of Recreation, Hanover Jaycees, Hanover Amvets Board of Directors, and York-Adams Youth Football League.
He was a member of AMVETS Post 22, VFW Post 2506, and American Legion Post 14. He was also a member of the Hanover Home Association, Hanover Elks, Hanover Eagles and Hanover Republican Club, the McSherrystown Home Association and McSherrystown Moose Association. He also belonged to the New Oxford Social/Athletic Club, the Buchanan Valley Fish and Game Club, and the York/Adams Fish and Game. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially enjoying trout fishing in Adams County Mountain Streams, would camp at Minnewaukaru Hunting Camp. He enjoyed following all Penn State Athletic Teams and attending local high school football games and was a member if the Chain Gang for the Southwestern High School, Hanover Packers and Hanover Rhinos Football Teams.
As per Chuck's wishes, there will be a private memorial service for family only.
