Catherine Viola Harner, 79, 255 East Lincoln Avenue, Gettysburg, PA died Monday, November 29, 2010 at her home. She was born November 27, 1931 in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of the late Earl J. and Nellie Andrew Smith. Mrs. Harner is survived by her husband of 27 years Glenn L. Harner. Cathy worked for many years at the Pennsylvania State Lottery Headquarters in Harrisburg before retiring. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Gettysburg VFW, Post 15, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Albert J. Lentz Post 202 American Legion in Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was an avid reader. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons; Richard Felix and his wife Patricia of Biglerville, PA, Michael Felix and his wife Jody of Gettysburg, PA, Robert Felix and his wife Vickie of Gettysburg, PA three step-children; Nancy Harner Phipps and her husband Al of Hummelstown, PA, Robert Harner and his wife Maryellen of Camp Hill, PA, Cathy Harner of Gettysburg, PA, four grandchildren; Bradly Felix, Becky Wascher, Rachael Mendoza, Megan Harner, three step-grandchildren; Joe Harner, Betsy Harner, Katie Harner, six great grandchildren; Elizabeth Wascher, Anna Wascher, Landon Mendoza, Channing Mendoza, Shane Blotter, Sean Blotter, a brother, Francis E. Smith of Dillsburg, PA, two sisters; Dorothy Smith of Findlay, OH, Mary Louise Felix of Gettysburg, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. Cathy was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Felix, a son, Douglas Felix and her first husband Edgar Elwood Felix. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Michael Allwein officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
