Richard Allan Horwatt, 57, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born October 5, 1951 in Washington, a son of Steve and Ella Mae Ewig Horwatt.
He was Presbyterian and served with US Navy during Viet Nam Era. He worked as a deli clerk at Giant Eagle in McMurray.
Surviving are one sister, Elaine Strnisha of Canonsburg, one brother, William Horwatt (Teresa Feris) of Washington, four step-brothers, Danny O'Hare and Les Subrick of Canonsburg, Michael O'Hare of Cecil, and Shawn O'Hare of Muse, two step-sisters, Lisa Strogish of Muse, and Bonita Hawkins of Cecil and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by step-sister, Donna Urbas and step-brother Leo O'Hare, Jr.
Friends will be received 2 to 8 pm Sunday at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd. 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA, J. David Sollon Supervisor. Services Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:30 with Reverend Thomas Hamilton, pastor Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
