Obituary
Florence Laura Rimel Hamilton, 83 of Avonmore, formerly of Leechburg, Passed away Saturday August 22, 2009 at Excela Health, Latrobe Hospital. She was born March 3, 1926 in Johnetta, (Armstrong Co.) Pa., the daughter of the late William and Martha Galbreath Rimel. Florence was a homemaker who loved to cook. She was a devoted and loving mother, who enjoyed time spent on the river. She was a member of the Kiski Valley CB ers, and spent countless hours monitoring the airways. To her fellow CB ers. She will always be remembered by her handle, "The Allegheny River Rat". Florence will be greatly missed by her Faith Manor friends, whom she considered an extended family. She is survived by two sons, James R. Hamilton and his wife Beverly, of Avonmore, William P. Hamilton and his wife Deborah, of Seymour Connecticut, a daughter Mary M. Ignaczak, of Harwood Maryland, Twelve grandchildren, Seventeen great-grandchildren, her sister Alma Pearl Zabinski and her husband Albert, of East Vandergrift, and a special caregiver Debbie Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James F. Hamilton, in 1968, two daughters, Judith C. Hamilton, and Laura Lynn Hamilton (in Infancy), four sisters, Margaret Ebbert, Dorothy Olson, Ruth Stegner, and Grace Mattu, five brothers Robert, Lester, Charles, James and Raymond Rimel, and her companion of 15 Years Orin James Fraley. Family will receive friends on Tuesday August 25, 2009 from 2:00-4:00P.M. And from 6:00-8:00 P.M., and Wednesday August 26, 2009 from noon until time of services at 2:00P.M. In the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday with Pastor Ronald G. Durika officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore. In Lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions be made, in Florence's memory to The March of Dimes, 5168 Campbells Run Road, Suite 101, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15205
