Obituary
KOHART (KUHARICH) - Nicholas G. Sr., 91, Hunker, formerly of South Fork, died July 22, 2012, at Easy Living Estates, Hunker. Born Jan. 22, 1921, in South Fork, son of Luke and Julia (Shilevinatz) Kohart (Kuharich). Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Stephen and Evan; sisters, Ann Zombeck, Cecilia Hobbs and Margaret Periano; and infant sister, Mary. Survived by loving wife of 71 years, Ann (Yurochko) Kohart, Hunker, whom he married April 24, 1941; sons, Richard, South Fork; Nick Jr., married to Carol Wingard, Hunker; Mark, Washington, D.C.; and Edward, married to Laura Hefkie, Damascus, Ore.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Coyle, Pittsburgh. Member of UMWA and retired coal miner from Bethlehem Mine Corp., Ehrenfeld Mine, after 38 years of service. Nick was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. Active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Robert P. Reese.
