Steve RentschlerEnjoyed catching with Steve in October of 2012 at Hillsdale. Incredible fun. A great Charger.
Godspeed # 28.
Chris and Ginny WattsWhen I started my Varsity Football coaching career at Douglas County High School, Steve was already on the coaching staff and became an immediate friend. I enjoyed every minute coaching with Steve, getting to know his family, and getting to know Steve. When you coach high school football you are a family and every member of that family is vital. I hated to see him leave when he went to Chapel Hill but that was the selfish part of me. Steve wanted to be a Head Coach and I was thankful that he got the opportunity. Steve was a good coach not only because of his knowledge of the game, but also because he had a heart for kids. Steve coached the kids with love and compassion and I loved him like a brother. Ginny, my daughters who had him as a teacher (Katti and Summer), and I will miss him. His family will be in our prayers....Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit". We love you Steve....God Bless and comfort the Roddick Family....Coach Watts

He wanted to make boys into men and leave a lasting impression. Coach, thanks for the impression you left on me and the impact you had on my life.

Wm. Rex Huey, Douglasville, GaI'm sorry to hear about Steve's passing. First I want to send my prayers and condolences to you, his family. I met Steve and Linda when they first moved to Douglasville, Ga. Linda owned a craft store next to the Pearl Vision Center where I worked. I believe Steve was already working at Douglas County High School as a football coach. Steve and Linda became good friends with my wife Becky and I at that time. I remeber Steve as a fun loving, caring husband, father and friend. Always full of spirit and enthusiasm for life and the people around him. He wanted to make "you" the best that you could be. This is what made him a great father and football coach. As years went by and people change, I fell out of touch with Steve and Linda and their children but have always kept them in my mind and heart. Steve was a compasionate person, full of life. So to now know that he has passed, my heart is sad and happy at the same time. Sad to know that he has left us but happy to know that he is with Our Father in Heaven.
My prayers go out to "you" his family.
