Angeline Farkas

SOUTH BEND - Angeline Szabo Sappington Farkas, 80, passed away at 11:00am Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Angeline was born on August 12, 1930 in South Bend to Joseph and Angeline (Meszegeto) Szabo. She retired in 1993 from Memorial Hospital and then worked part time with REAL Services until 2009. Angie was active in the Rum Village Neighborhood Assoc., and loved to cook. She was also an animal lover, especially her dog, Lilly, and cat Abigail. Surviving are three daughters Sandy (John) Walters of Alton, MO, Corrine HeRoy of Bonita Springs, FL, and Sue Towns of South Bend; a son Donald (Mary) Sappington of South Bend 7 grandchildren Becky (Jeff) Peace, John Walters Jr., Billie Jo Amor, Drake HeRoy, Richard Towns, Alicia Faircloth, and Donald (Katie) Sappington II; and 3 great-grandchildren Jeffrey Peace, Arial Peace, and Dannielle Walters. The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff of Memorial Hospital, Dujarie House and Miller's Merry Manor for their care of Angie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Our Lady of Hungary Church.

I am so sorry for your loss. A mother is a very precious person and I lost mine in Nov. 2009.My mother (Julie Dobrzykowski) was a dear long time friend of Angie.I know she was a wonderful loving friend because my mother would talk about her from time to time. Angie was the secretary for Pastoral and Social Services at Memorial Hospital. Her warm smile and sense of humor always brightened the office. I am sorry that I cannot attend her wake as I have an ongoing commitment on Tuesdays. My prayers are with the family. Ella Goodman

Angie was my secretary when I worked at Memorial Hospital.She was a pleasure to know and work with. I have fond memories of our friendship and her warm personality. I was sad to hear of her passing.
