Gertrude Frances (Schelinski) McCormick, age 101, of Center Township, in Butler, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at home with her family. Born June 21, 1912 in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Miller) Schelinski. She was the wife of the late Paul A. McCormick, who passed away on May 7, 1970. Gertrude's first job was as a sales clerk with D.L. Clark for ten years. She also worked at Sears and the Northway Mall Children's store before retiring in 1970. Mrs. McCormick, formerly of Richland Township, was a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Arleigh (Ron) Eddy, of Parker, PA; daughter, Polly (John) Hicks, of Center Township; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Josephine Vulakovic, of SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Bednarski, grandson, Jeffrey Huber and granddaughter, Stacy Bednarski, her siblings; Charles, Edward, Margaret Schelinski, Ethel Weibel, Regis, Dorothy Woldring, John and Sylvester. Gertrude's family will welcome friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30A.M. on Saturday, March 22, at the St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road in Gibsonia. She will be laid to rest at the Hampton Cemetery in Allison Park.
