When I think of Irene, I think of someone who had her priorities right and valued that which is most valuable – family. She was a proud and dedicated mom, and I am so fortunate to have gotten to share one of her most valuable treasures….her daughter Linda. When my brother Bob married Linda I got a bonus sister. Our hearts go out to you Linda, as well as Bill, Rod and Tom. Rest in peace, Irene, you loved well, and were well loved.

The Beckman Family -- Irene was such a great neighbor, if I arrived at just the right time I sometimes had supper with her. She sure had patience when she was treaching me to play Hand and Foot. Hold on to your memories and bring them out now and then. Love Mary

Beckman Family, So sorry to hear about Rene's passing. I got to see her a few years ago when Derek was home and it brought back a lot of fond memories. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Irene--she always had a kind word to say to us all those years we watched our son and her grandson play sports together. What a positive person she was even when the boys didn't always win or play their best. We have missed seeing her but you can rest assured that she has found happiness in her eternal resting place.

Mrs. Beckman was the first teacher I had when my family moved to Shelby. She gave me a lot of confidence. I recall I was scared about the move but Mrs. Beckman instilled confidence in me and taught me a lot. I can honestly state that of all the teachers/professors I ever had she is in the top five. I know she is in heaven. PS....Thank goodness for the confidence Mrs. Beckman gave me because I needed it for Mrs. Montgomery's class the following year.
