Cumberland,MD-Ramona Kay “Monnie” (Jenkins) Hedrick , 67, of Cumberland passed away on July 16, 2013 at the WMRMC. Monnie was the daughter of the late Anna Virginia (Mayhew) and William Jenkins, Cumberland. She was also preceded in death by her son Jon Hedrick; eight brothers Roy “June” Cowgill, Edward Cowgill; Fredrick Cowgill; Robert Cowgill; Clifton Jenkins; Donald Jenkins; Billie Jenkins and Larry Jenkins; two sisters Dorothy “Dot” Rhodes and Ann Kenney; two great grandchildren Cassie Metz and Raymond James Tasker; and her sister-in-law and best friend Sharon Cowgill. Monnie is the last surviving of eleven siblings. Monnie was a homemaker who always sacrificed for her girls. She loved cooking, BINGO and Bowling. She was known for her bravery and sense of humor. Surviving is her husband Royce Hedrick Sr; four daughters Carla Porter and partner Fred Morgan, Cumberland; Lisa Porter and partner Rick McLaughlin, Ft. Ashby,WV; Cynthia Freeman and husband Mike, Cumberland; and Michelle Wines, Rio, WV; three sons Royce Hedrick Jr and wife Kathy, Cumberland, Mark Hedrick Sr and wife Karen, Cumberland, Shawn Hedrick and partner Lee, Cumberland; nineteen grandchildren Sierra Potter, Paul Kifer, Tina Kifer, Allen Hedrick III, Felisha Tasker, Ruth “Beth” Tasker, Josh Lovins, Travis Hedrick, Mark Hedrick Jr., Cody Hedrick, Michael Freeman II, Daneana Freeman, Gary Freeman, Dustin Hedrick, Kristen Hedrick, Jonathan Hedrick, John Wines, Steven Wines and William Wines; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends Lovie Twigg, Gerri Fuller, Anna Mae Thompson, Mary Dawson, and Carol Hamilton. Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home,P.A., 108 Virginia Ave (www.scarpellifh.com) on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Services will be on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00am with Donald “Butch” Jenkins officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the Service. Interment will be at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. Pallbearers are Allen Hedrick III, Mark Hedrick Jr., Gary Freeman, Jonathan Hedrick, Kenny Cowgill , Scott Welsh, Travis Hedrick and Michael Freeman II. Monnie was a loving wife and best friend who will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA towards her funeral expenses.
