He was born November 28, 1943 in Roaring Springs PA, the son of the late Samuel and Marian (Morgan) Cooper and had lived in this area since 1965. Lynn owned and operated Coopers Sales and Services. He had also worked at GM for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Lynn loved drag racing, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Cindy in 1994. He is survived by his wife Sondra of 50 years; his son James (Amy Newman) Cooper of Waterport; grandson James “JJ” Cooper of Waterport and many cousins. He was born in Albion in 1929, the son of Jacob and Ruth (Irvine) Vanderlaan. He served in the Air Force from 1948 - 1952, during the Korean War. Stan worked at T.J. Lipton's for about two years, then started his own business, S. Vanderlaan TV Sales and Service, retiring in 1997. After retiring, Stan was able to spend more time on his long-time interest, Native American archeology. He was a Research Fellow with the Rochester Museum and Science Center, and the New York State Archeological Association, and had written two books. He was a founding member of the Orleans County Historical Association, and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Katherene; five children: David, Ronald (Joanne), Barbara, Dale (Anna), and Donna; and two grandchildren: Kristin (Ben) Kaiser and Marc Vanderlaan. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Phyllis) Vanderlaan, and two nephews, Richard and Gary.
