Butch had served in the U.S Army and he was a member of the American Legion Jewell Buckman Post #529 of Holley and the VFW Post #202 of Holley. He was born in Albion but grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. Tyke served in the Marine Corps 1942-1946 partly in the Pacific and was called back for the Korean Conflict 1950-1951. He married Marilynn Miller in 1947, earned a BS degree from Buffalo State Teachers College, taught shop in Colorado for two years and earned a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado. After Korea he taught for 28 years at Euclid, Ohio, the last 15 as a Guidance Counselor. After retirement in 1978 they moved to Orlando Florida and spent summers at their cottage on Lake Ontario in NY. for 41 years. Tyke is survived by his wife Marilynn and a daughter Kathy, who is a Navy Veteran. Tyke will be cremated with no showing and there will be a Memorial Service at the Gaines Congregation United Church of Christ, 14023 Ridge Rd.
