He was born 6/4/1919 in Albion to J. Adelbert and Lucy (Parmalee) Dibley and had lived in this area his entire life. Harry was a member of the Dye Hose Company #5 of the Albion Fire Department for over 60 years. He was past President of the Orleans County Boots and Saddles Club, past Leader of the Hoofbeats 4-H Club, and a past member of the Albion Polo Club. Mr. Dibley was predeceased by his wife Marie, his brother Myron, and his sisters Frances Price, Arline Briggs, and niece Donna Schroeder. Walton(Hamlin) Sandra L. “Sandi” Walton, age 73 formerly of Hamlin Terrace, died 5/20/2015 in Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born 8/16/1941 in Rochester and had lived in this area over 40 years. Sandi was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kendall, a member and volunteer for Literacy Volunteers and had been a volunteer for People Promoting Hospice of Orleans County…the start-up group which helped create what is now Hospice of Orleans. Mrs. Walton was predeceased by her husband George and her brother William McKee. Louis was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church and the Knights of Columbus St. Joan of Arc Assembly 4th Degree. He served in the US Army during WW II in North Africa and Italy and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a former employee of Scrufari Construction Co. in Niagara Falls. Louis was an avid Golfer, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Kathy was born July 22, 1944 in Buffalo to Hamilton and Betty McCausland Doherty. The family lived in Buffalo through World War II, moved to Eagle Harbor in 1950 and the Village of Albion in 1960. She attended the Eagle Harbor and Waterport Schools and graduated from Albion High School in 1962. Kathy attended Syracuse University and Hunter College. In June of 1965, she married William W. Daniel, Jr and they lived in New York City and Cambridge, MA, where their 2 children were born. After teaching in special education, she completed her BSN at Boston University. In 1976 Kathy moved to the Los Angeles area and started a 35 plus year career with the UCLA Medical Center while completing her MSN degree. She was a critical care nurse, and was particularly proud of her years as a nurse educator in the early 1980’s for the groundbreaking HIV/AIDS medical and research programs. Kathy also worked in ICU, med-surgical services and in the home health service. She was recognized many times by her peers as a compassionate patient advocate and nurse mentor. For almost twenty years Kathy was a steward, bargaining representative and board member of the California Nurses’ Association. She is survived by her son, Peter (Luz) and granddaughters Saige and Ava of Milbrae, CA; and daughter Sarah (Jeff) Givens and granddaughters Elysse and Emily of Carlsbad, CA; her brothers Hamilton, “Chip” (Karen), Kevin (Linda), and Stephen (Heidi); nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born July 3, 1934 in Oakfield to Albert and Anna (Polak) Panek. He was the youngest of 11 children. John was predeceased by his siblings: Frank, Albert, Josephine, Anna, and Nellie Panek, Mary Sumeriski, and Julia Gabriel. John attended Elba School and served two years in the Army. While working at Kodak, a job he held for 30 years, he started a small farm of 10 acres…as farming was his true passion. This farm would grow with the help of his two sons Peter and James, to one of the larger farms in Orleans County. John’s work ethic was passed down to his sons and grandchildren to make Panek Farms and Panek Coatings two successful businesses that he was very proud of. He also enjoyed getting together with friends and family to play a game of cards. John married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Shuler on June 9, 1953. Together they had three children, Peter, James and Todd Panek. Barbara predeceased John in June of 2013. GaylordHolley: Ross L. Gaylord age 78, died April 30, 2015. He was born January 16, 1937 in the Town of Murray a son of the late Wendell and Mable (Kuhn) Gaylord. Ross was very community oriented and began his career with the Village of Holley on July 6, 1961 as a volunteer member of the Holley Fire Department and held several positions including, Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain and was also a member of the Orleans County Fire Chief’s Association. He was elected to the Village Board of Trustees in 1988, served 13 years as Trustee, including nine years as the Deputy Mayor, and served 9 years as a member on the Village of Holley Planning Board. In 2013 Ross received a NYCOM Certificate of Public Service Award for 50 years of service as a dedicated public official. He was also a Charter member of the Holley VFW post #202 Men’s Auxiliary, a member of the Holley American Legion post #529, Sons of the American Legion and was formerly active with Boy Scout Troop 24 for eight years. Ross retired from Eastman Kodak Co. as a Printer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Francis, Almond, Paul and Donald Gaylord; sisters, Eleanor Risner and Barbara Palermo.
